Re: Troebia's Diary
To appreciate a commenting piece of art one needs the context of the original work and also be aware of the motives that the artist had while reworking it. McGee's work, in my opinion, is more universal and timeless than Wiley's.snoringdog wrote: ↑April 17th, 2024, 7:38 pm I like the re-imagining of works too, and the artistic "conversations" that take place among the artists.

A husband and wife had a fight.
Wife called her mom: "He fought with me again, I am coming to stay with you."
Mom: "No dear, he must pay for his mistake. I am coming to stay with you!"
What’s the difference between outlaws and in laws?
Outlaws are Wanted.
"My mother in law bought a talking parrot, but returned it a week later. “This parrot hasn’t spoke a single word.” She complained.
“I haven’t had a chance to!” Replied the parrot."
“I don’t know what I’d do without my mother in law,
but it’s nice to dream about it.”

It's called catharsis, I guess.
I did it myself some years back: https://we.tl/t-mlAGKlmOc3 (the link will only work for seven days)
Fire purifies the spirit, there's no going back, the only way is forward.

Re: Troebia's Diary
So, how did you feel after doing that?
I guess if you have a strong artistic impulse you think, "There's more where that came from anyway", right?
The artist friend of ours was once tossing out a stone-sculpture bust of a fellow artist he'd made many years before. We said "Nooo...! Can we have it?". He said "Sure", and we've had it in the garden for years. People sometimes comment as they walk by.
Just this spring we noticed that the nose had dropped off, and my wife wanted to pitch it out. I said "No, I can try to glue it back on" ... I've become a bit attached to the thing...
