I'd love to hear an interview with this guy Micheal Kent, he was a neo-nazi who gradually turned himself around after he made friends with his black probation officer. Stories of people emerging from those kinds of groups and realising the errors of their ways are always fascinating to me.

Maybe it sounds too politicised but the focus doesn't have to be on that side of it, there is a mental-illness narrative behind it. He lives in Colorado but people have come from further, right?

Today's episode (Luke Palmer) had a mention of Financial abuse.
It made me think of Dr. Drew as a guest. His childhood included financial abuse in the form of his father making him feel like even the most basic expenses were a burden and they'd end up in "the poor house."
Overall, I think he'd be a heck of a guest. He's so co-dependant and anxious, too.

How about Daryl Davis?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daryl_Davis

He's a black musician who, as the son of a diplomat, spent his early childhood living overseas. He came home to the U.S., and was shocked by the racism he encountered. He has befriended 20 members of the Ku Klux Klan who have chosen to leave the Klan as a result of their friendship.

Roxane Gay, writer, queer woman of color, & childhood rape survivor with an interesting history. I recommend reading her most recent book "Hunger" - or at least consider reading it. Best book of 2017 in my opinion.

What about Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus (either individually or together) - they talk a lot about how how they came to adopt minimalism and it sounds like they've both struggled with tough childhoods and mental illness in their families. I'd love to hear more of that side of their lives from either of them if they were willing to share it.

Joe PGuerrero after prison show.

a perfect guest for the show.

His story resembels somewhat your story Paul. He was in prison and now has a show called "after prison show".

He is hilirarious and happy and comical but deep and serious and witty at the same time.
