I am a straight male who has been attracted to a number of women throughout my life who turned out to be gay. The only time I pursued these attractions was to ask out a female co-worker who invited me to her home for dinner, where I met her "roommate." I was 20 and clueless. She finally told me kindly that it wasn't going to happen and let me kiss her goodbye. Years later, I remember the experience with a mixture of amusement and embarrassment.

It's only been recently that I recognized a pattern to my crushes. They typically fall into the type called "chapstick lesbian". Usually short hair, pretty, casual or sporty attire. Anyone else go through this?
